About
Hello, I'm Katarina! Glad you chose to swing by.
I started my career as a teacher, which turns out to be unexpectedly good training for research. When I stepped into a classroom of 7th graders with first-generation iPads, I realized technology wasn't improving people’s lives as it was sold, but was overcomplicating them. I wanted to understand why and how to improve it — and this has driven me since.
I've spent the last decade as a UX researcher, most recently as a Staff Researcher at Meta, where I lead research programs affecting billions of users, build AI-native workflows from scratch, and seek to anticipate questions before they’re asked. I get most excited by nebulous problems in ambiguous spaces — where user questions haven't yet been articulated or answered.
Beyond research, I am an avid Afro-Brazilian dancer, wheel-throwing neophyte, and explorer of places and animal faces — whether that’s snow monkeys in Jigokudani, Japan or alpacas in Malibu, usually with my family in tow.
